Togo Sofa

Michel Ducaroy — Ligne Roset, France

Low seating, deep folds and a foam-based body give Michel Ducaroy's Togo an informal character for a relaxed living room.

A seating design from 1973

Ducaroy created Togo for Ligne Roset. Its low profile supports an informal way of sitting, and the folds give even a single-colour covering a lively surface.

Foam shapes the structure

Foams of different densities form the body rather than a conventional supporting timber or metal frame. The covering and quilting define its contours. The internal construction matters as much as the outline.

Choose modules and covering together

Individual seats, larger elements and footstools create different arrangements. Check the actual configuration in your plan. Textured cloth, smooth fabric and leather each treat the folds differently.

Work at a lower level

A low table and rug can connect the seats, with taller furniture elsewhere balancing the room. Try sitting down and getting up: the low position needs to suit your daily use.
